A Trip to Showa and more.

Posted in Marksman, Max, Showa at 3:33 pm by cttm

I fell asleep and woke up at 7am and decided…what better to do than to go on Tespia? So I did.

Within minutes of logging in, I headed straight towards Zipangu, testing out my skills on innocent Cloud Foxes. After miles of walking, I stumbled across the Showa Portal!

Showa, here I come!

If you are familiar with the JMS Showa, you will realize that we got a PG-rated Showa…no guns, just fists and squeaky hammers.

o wow…nice hammer.

Here are some random Showa screenshots:

Showa Town!

Shouwa!

I would buy this if the Cash Shop worked properly. :(

Speaking of the Cash Shop, I managed to buy two items…a top and a bottom.

Aren’t I pretty?

Showa holds a lot of new quests as well. Also, Hikari and Hanoko have moved from Mushroom Shrine to Showa.

After buying a new crossbow for 150k, I thought…WHERE ARE THE YAK GIRLS? i was almost convinced that they weren’t implemented since I couldn’t find the Hideout. I soon realized that I just had to click on some NPC next to the haircut place. Before I knew it, I was at the entrance!

WTF IZ DIS?

I went through the portal and the first thing I saw…

…was a Yak Girl!!!

I got past my excitement and easily killed it (her). And then I saw some more. And I killed those.

o n dis is me pwning

At the end of the Hideout, I expected to reach the boss room. Apparently I was in one of the boss rooms, but not THE boss room. The only thing I saw was an NPC.

Thanks!

I’ll be adding some random screenshots later.

If there’s a way to break, I’m sure to find it.

Ok, this will probably be disjointed and incoherent. Mostly because it’s late and that’s how my mind is working (not working?) right now.

So I made a magician, Sunset. I was trying for a perfect roll, and then realized I probably could just use an AP reset, and finally took a 4/5. Only to find out that the CS was DCing you when you tried to buy stuff, but oh well.

I ambled around Maple Island for awhile. It’s changed, again, since I’ve last been, so it was interesting to see. I like the new quests and the addition of Slimes, Pigs and Stumps to the available monsters. I also went to Pio and got a chair, because my Maple Island experience just wouldn’t feel complete without a Relaxer to show for it.

I went to Shanks at level 6 because I’m a moron, and figured I could get to the necessary level 7 once I got to Vic. Shanks told me I was stupid, and made me go kill snails until I was 7. Which took five minutes, but you know, the walking. ;P

So on to Victoria, and to Phil, who brought me to Henesys.

So I find Cody, and I’m greedy, I must admit. Since after you click that you want to level, you can’t do anything else, I wanted to be good and sure I’d gotten everything I could before that happened. And I’ll spoil my story at this point, in case someone can figure out exactly where I went wrong. I borked the character. I couldn’t apply any SP into 2nd job (gave me a weird “Must put points into first skill” error or something very odd like that), and then when I tried to get Cody to level me, he said I had too much AP/SP for him to do it, and I should spend it first.. which of course I couldn’t. So Sunset is in a bit of a pickle, and I thought I’d blog about it before I deleted her and tried again. Anyway, so I’ll get to what I did.

Cash Shop, as previously mentioned, was being a jerk as far as buying stuff went. However, I was able to fully expand my inventory, and the storage slots. So I did that, and over the course of getting stuff from Cody, I got 12 mill, more Power Elixirs than I can count, some all-cures, and three rows each of Summoning Rocks and Magic Rocks.

First thing I did was go through all the advancements. So I was a level 7 Magician, then a level 7 Cleric, then a level 7 Priest, and finally a level 7 Bishop. I also had Cody do my AP up until level 70. So I’m also a level 7 Bishop with almost 300 INT. I was trying to spare my wrist some agony. :P

I took the gift of 100sp, and did the first job allocations. Then I learned all my 4th job skills with a click of a button, and then picked up two sets of my skill books. I’m still not quite sure how those work, and if there was a chance they’d fail, I wanted more than one. :P

Then I think I took away the SP I didn’t use, and I think that’s about all I did in total before what I’m assuming my big mistake was. I loaded up on SP (I have 300 to spend or something like that), because I wanted it, I guess. And then I decided to let Cody level me.. which, obviously, didn’t happen.

I think it’s a glitch that you can’t do Cody’s other stuff once you’ve committed to leveling, and I hope that’s fixed, because if I could get at the ‘eliminate extra SP/AP’ option, I could salvage the character.

Anyway, since I’m not certain she is salvageable, I put the 12 mill and my books and the power elixirs into the storage, and logged out.

If the consensus is that I perma-borked it, I don’t mind setting her up again. Maple Island is pretty easy, and I have a good idea of how to allocate the Skill Points.. I just need to be able to do it.

And I made reference to a lot of the screenies I took, but am too lazy to go back through the post and see where they should go, so they all get dumped at the end with captions.

So I somehow made a gallery, so let’s hope the captions match the pictures?

1. My chair (of victory!)
2. My quiz (of victory?)
3. Shanks, meeting v.1
4. Shanks, meeting v.2 (new and improved with chair!)
5. Shanks, meeting v.3
6. Shanks, meeting v.4 (Shanks pictures taken for Gloria, because I think she’s in love)
7. People dropping books like crazy. Also taken I think to highlight the Level 7 Cleric.
8. Level 7 Priest.
9. Level 7 Bishop, as well as all the amenities that Cody offers under the “Make job advancement” subheading.
10. What fourth job would you like to be today?

Much love if you actually read through all this..

THIS. IS. TESPIAAA.

Posted in Marksman, Vicki at 7:36 am by cttm

So I made the Marksman. I named her Sniper. I’m ~*so*~ creative. I leveled her up to 7 (10x EXP for the win) in the training camp and ran to South Perry. Once I got to Victoria Island, I paid that guy in the wooden shack to take me to Henesys for 80 mesos.

Then I clicked Cody and made him give me Power Elixirs, Summoning, Rocks, and some cash. A good idea in case you get stuck with the “too many AP/SP” issue. Then I leveled up to 161 from Cody, which took DAMN WELL FOREVER because I had to sit there and apply the AP and SP. My hands are still sore. Then I bought some noob clothes at the Henesys Weapon Shop.

I was desperately looking for clothes in the CS that I could actually buy. I only managed to find one before I got sick of getting DCed all the time. The Hanbok. xP Then I logged off because I have to get up at 8:15 tomorrow, and it’s late. :(

Oh, and I think I messed up the build. I didn’t realize it would stop me from using more SP than I’ve “earned” for my level. So I think she has level 5 Pierce. xP But I think we’ll survive. I’m not sure what’s up with the skill books either.

Dragon Pulse is god, by the way.

And to finish off, I have some screenies for your viewing pleasure.

I have arrived.

Well thanks, how kind of you!

Chaos?

You like my damage?

Tespia is a Beast

Here’s my unorganized crash course on Tespia:

Maple Island

Just get to level 7 and leave, don’t worry about any of the quests.

Cody

When you first click on him, he gives you options:

  • Level up
  • Make job advancement
  • Give me mesos

This is where it gets confusing. If you click level up first, you’re screwed. He will. not. stop. leveling you until you’re 160. But you also gain 5 AP and 3 SP for each level, and once they hit 250, you can’t level anymore. So you spend as many as you can, and eventually you max everything you can, and your only option is to keep leveling, because that’s all you do when you click Cody. No window with options, just tons of exp. So eventually you’ll hit a wall–you have too much SP and AP, nowhere to put it, therefore you cannot level. So he gives you an error message saying you need to spend your SP. On what?

I don’t know, this probably was of no help at all, but it’s just a little bit frustrating. :P So good luck if you can figure out the system. I don’t even feel like trying.

Edit: Thanks, BRYAN. :P

First post!

So basically, this is the place where I hope we can keep track of all the Tespia stuff. :P Like if someone logs off at level 10, and they come back and the character is level 150. That would be weird. Plus, I think it would be interesting to know who did what on what character, etc. Basically, just post about our amazing adventures on Tespia, the server of magical hope and wonder! It doesn’t have to be a big milestone.

We can also image dump screenies here, so we don’t have to cower in fear of being warned for posting too many off-site links on Neopets. To add an image, click the little icon next to add media on the Write Post page.

When you write a post, please also scroll down and check the categories that apply to your post, so we can be more ~*organized*~. And including your name somewhere in the post would be nice too. xP

I haven’t worked out how we’re going to schedule things yet. I’m thinking that can be less formal. More to come about that later.

That should be it for now!

-Vicki

(I found it! Well, still haven’t found how to view it, but this limited progress should be considered a resounding success! Also, can we have a private entry on here somewhere that has the log-in info? I’d write it on a piece of paper, but I’m moving soon. :P -Sunny)
